MAWD Pathology offers unmatched and diverse advanced subspecialty expertise. We employ many of the region's recognized leaders in subspecialty pathology. Our pathologists hold subspecialty board certification in a variety of disciplines: blood banking/transfusion medicine, cytopathology, dermatopathology, hematopathology, and molecular genetic pathology. Where subspecialty board certification is not available, MAWD pathologists have fellowship training in breast pathology, gastrointestinal (GI) pathology, gynecologic (GYN) pathology, and neuropathology.

MAWD is committed to quality and patient safety – all malignant diagnoses and complex cases are reviewed by a second pathologist within the group for concurrence. We utilize nationally recognized pathologist experts in their particular subspecialty to review and concur on unusual, rare or particularly complex diagnostic cases to ensure that the rendered diagnosis is the correct diagnosis so the patient will receive the correct therapy.​

As of March 31, 2025, MAWD has partnered with Labcorp for the performance and billing of some tests not offered directly by MAWD. MAWD offers a full menu of anatomic pathology, medical director and related services.
