Our Physicians

MAWD Pathology offers unmatched and diverse advanced subspecialty expertise and employs many of the region's recognized leaders in subspecialty pathology. Pathologists at MAWD are Board Certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, Anatomic Pathology, or Clinical Pathology, and have at least one area of expert focus, even when subspecialty board certification is not available.

MAWD has now grown to involve over 50 pathologists. Our pathologists hold subspecialty board certification in a variety of disciplines: blood banking/transfusion medicine, cytopathology, dermatopathology, hematopathology, molecular genetic pathology, and oral and maxillofacial pathology. Where subspecialty board certification is not available, MAWD pathologists have fellowship training in breast pathology, gastrointestinal (GI) pathology, gynecologic (GYN) pathology, and neuropathology. Dr. Samuel Caughron, President and Chief Executive Officer of MAWD Pathology, was the first board certified molecular genetic pathologist in the region.
